About FCRA

FCRA known as Fair Credit Reporting Act is a Law in America to protect consumers from malpractice and from business which use excessive techniques to obtain consumer information on an individual. This law regulates the consumer act and protects consumer rights.FCRA was instrumental in creating law that entitles each American consumer to access free credit report. Because of this law American consumers can get free credit report from credit bureaus.

FCRA also ensures each consumer get decision on their application either for loan or job after lenders or employers screen his/her credit files. Business and lenders are supposed to take consent of consumer before screening his/her credit files.

FCRA also strictly enforces correction of disputed information in credit files. If consumers report any disputed information on their credit files, credit bureaus are supposed to verify and complete the correction in 30 days and report back to consumer with updated information.

FCRA is one savior for consumers in America. Without FCRA consumers will be left to preying business and tough tactics of credit bureaus.
